Walking is an extremely healthy activity. There is also a lot to be said about the benefits of spending some time outdoors. So, when the weather is nice, consider going outside for a little walking meditation. Walking meditations are similar to regular meditations, using the same techniques, plus the movement component.

Spend some time outside. Find a spot where you or your students won’t be distracted and go for a little walk while focusing on your breath. You can count your breaths, or choose your favourite breathing strategy, like box breathing. If practicing walking meditations with students, make sure to remind them to find their own space. The temptation to chat with their friends will make this difficult at first.
